The depositor head oscillates to produce a spot or ribbon deposit. The twin jacketed hoppers feed Chocolate and / or Cr¨¨me separately to a pump block with twin rotary valve and piston assemblies. Identification is nominated as left and right side viewed from the operator side of the plant. The depositor will cycle once and park in standby mode and wait for the next signal to proceed. The signal is taken from an encoder on the conveyor drive geared motor unit and is controlled by mould presence beneath the depositor. The depositor has its own operator interface panel which is adjacent to the depositor. Both product hoppers and pump block are maintained at a constant temperature by a tempered water supply to give ¡°Run¡± and ¡°Overnight¡± conditions. Chocolate high and low levels in the hoppers are controlled by a sensor in each hopper. When the high level is sensed, the product is redirected from feeding the hopper to recirculating back to the holding tank.
The body of the depositor has twin jacketed hoppers manufactured entirely in stainless steel. The depositor is a twin rotary valve with horizontal piston design. Each Chocolate piston drive bar assembly is connected via two links to the main shaft and lever. The shaft is driven by positively and directly by an inline planetary gearbox and servo motor. The maximum stroke of the piston drive bar is 70mm.
Chocolate piston deposit and suction strokes and speeds are adjusted directly from the HMI unit. Piston suck back can be adjusted for speed and stroke or can be eliminated altogether. All 96 pistons are mounted on two drive bars (48 pistons each) and retained by two keep plates. Pistons can be disconnected and removed for cleaning by lifting the keep plates and extracting them through the drive bar. Each drive bar is supported on bearings by two shafts to ensure a horizontal movement throughout the piston stroke.
